Production Supervisor

We have an excellent opportunity for a Production Supervisor to work with our Production Management team and become a key part of the day to day operations at our site in Bristol.


Swanglen is one of the leading manufacturers of headboards in the UK. Based in the St Philip’s area of Bristol, we currently employ 30 people and we are looking for someone who will fit in with this size business and enjoy being part of a hard working team.

The main role of the Production Supervisor is to have a good understanding, and be part of, the operations of the business and support the Management team. To be successful in this role, the Production Supervisor will be competent in managing work flow processes and all areas of production planning.

As well as being involved in the operational side of the business, you will also lead, motivate and engage with up to 20 Operatives, with responsibilities for day to day employee issues and performance management.


The successful applicant will have the following key competencies:

  • Some supervisory experience within the manufacturing industry
  • A good understanding of how to evaluate manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of production planning and reporting procedures
  • A good standard of education
  • Good computer skills, with a good understanding of Microsoft Excel. Training in Microsoft Excel will be available to the right candidate, if other key competencies are met.
  • Will be used to working under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Will have experience in people management
  • Is comfortable being in both factory and office environments
  • Is business driven
  • Will have excellent attention to detail
  • Will have an approachable manner
  • Will have excellent communication skills, written and verbal


Proven examples of similar employment and people management would be to your advantage.
