Trainee Assistant Manager

We have an excellent opportunity for a Trainee Assistant Manager to work with our Production Management team and become a key part of the day to day operations at our site in Bristol.

Who are we?

Swanglen are one of the largest manufacturers of headboards and bedroom furniture in the UK.  Based in the St George’s area of Bristol, we supply other Airsprung Group companies with headboards made specifically for their ranges, as well as stand alone headboards for general retail.

What will you be doing?

Working 39 hours per week on a day shift, you will learn all aspects of the business to fully understand how the company operates from start to finish.  You will be expected to be involved in the every day tasks of production planning, dispatch, purchasing, product set up, product costings, quality assurance and company audits.  This role will involve deputising for the Operations Manager and the Purchasing and Logistics Manager, being a main point of contact for any production issues or queries in their absence.  A full job description is available on request

Who are we looking for?

The ideal candidate must be confident and willing to learn on the job.  They will work towards successfully growing into the Assistant Manager position and embrace their responsibilities.  This is a varied and busy role and therefore we are looking for someone who has excellent communication skills, can work well under pressure, enjoys being part of a hard working team, is business driven and possesses excellent attention to detail.  Basic PC skills will be required with some experience using Excel spreadsheets.  Whilst experience in a similar role and environment is desirable, this is not essential as full training will be given.
